THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SO FAR HAS OBJECTED TO THE SPECULATIVE PLANNING APPLICATION BY BELLWAY HOMES FOR 135 DWELLINGS ON HOME FARM – BUT WE NEED MORE OBJECTIONS PLEASE!
As the Wiltshire Council consultation phase for the speculative planning application to develop Home Farm comes to a close, we, the EBBRAG committee, thought we would give a brief update so far.
As you are aware, the Steering Group rewriting the Warminster Neighbourhood Plan rejected Home farm for site allocation. This was apparently due to 61% of respondents asking for Home Farm to be deleted.
EBBRAG has submitted a Freedom of Information request to the Town Clerk asking for the actual figures of respondents – we are aware that the Friday before closure on the Monday of the survey the town Council had received only 175 returns – how many were objecting to site allocation?
Objections to development of Home Farm on the Wiltshire Council Planning Application site has been tremendous – but there is still time to object – Wiltshire council will take and log any objection provide it is valid and received soon! We are hoping to get around 1,000 objections.
If you review the objections several couples have put in a joint objection – far better that each person submits their own objection, even if its the same!
There has been a tremendous objection response to the planning application, as at today some 470 objections including:
- Salisbury and Wilton Swifts – giving conditions for any new build
- 170 signatures on different topics submitted
- Middleton’s Solicitors on the proposed entrance
- Residents of Bishopstrow Court
- Wiltshire Council (WC) Waste (Refuge Management) imposing conditions
- Our MP – the Rt Hon Andrew Murrison MP objecting again on both applications
- Of course EBBRAG on your behalf
- Bishopstrow Parish Meeting (their Parish Council) who put in a powerful rejection
- Warminster Town Council – who unanimously rejected the application
- Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa – one of the largest employers in Warminster who use local suppliers and tradesmen
- WC Urban Design – who believe the proposed design is imposing an urban solution on an rural location
- Fish Legal – a legal firm protecting chalk streams throughout UK who are firmly aginst this development
- WC Public Open Space – who are not happy with the projected utilisation of the open spaces and have imposed conditions
- WC Arboriculture who have imposed conditions on trees
- WC Education – who think the current schools can cope but have not looked at the total build for Warminster and therefore the total number of children
- Context Planning – Employed by EBBRAG
- Heritage Impact Assessment – Employed by EBBRAG
- And the biggest show stopper WC Archaeology who want a complete review of the land over 12 months
But the biggest objectors have been you – so well done – all objections well written and hard to ignore by Wiltshire Council – BUT we need more! Family, friends , neighbours etc. Please get them in – once they are on record they cannot be ignored.
Several people have recently asked how to object –
go to www.ebbrag.com
and it is all explained in the news section.
You can submit multiple objections on different topics – they are all listed on the EBBRAG website. Please do so and increase our objections – public opinion carries much weight on these matters.
Thank you for all your support and hard work – the next stage starts!
